This is placeholder text. The final wording will be reviewed by an EU-licensed lawyer before public release. By installing or using Mara, you agree to the terms below.

Provider

Mara is provided by Alexandru Romanescu, an independent developer established in the European Union. For any contractual or support questions, contact support@knowbs.eu. For privacy questions, contact privacy@knowbs.eu.

What Mara is

Mara is a personal tracking and logging tool for breastfeeding, pumping, diapers, and baby weight. It records the data you enter, displays it back to you in summaries and charts, and optionally synchronises it to your other devices or to a partner.

Mara is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. The information displayed is based solely on data you enter and is provided for your personal convenience. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for questions about your or your baby's health.

Free use, paid sync

Mara is free to install and use locally on your device. The free tier has no time limit, no feature gating, and no advertising.

We offer two optional paid subscriptions billed through Google Play:

Either plan can be cancelled at any time from Google Play → Subscriptions. Cancellation stops further billing; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period.

Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU, EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a digital subscription. By starting to use Mara Cloud sync immediately after subscribing, you expressly acknowledge that you lose this right of withdrawal once cloud sync is activated. You can still cancel future billing at any time as described above.

Conformity and updates

We aim to keep Mara working as described and to provide updates for the duration of your subscription, in line with EU Directive 2019/770. If we discontinue a feature in a way that materially reduces what you signed up for, we will notify you in advance and offer a way to terminate your subscription without penalty.

Your data, your portability

You can export all your data as CSV at any time from Settings, fulfilling your right to data portability under GDPR and Directive 2019/770. If you cancel a Mara Cloud subscription, your local data remains on your device; cloud-side data is deleted within 30 days. See the Privacy Policy for the full data lifecycle.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your Mara Cloud account from Settings → Account or by emailing privacy@knowbs.eu. Account deletion does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription — to stop billing, cancel the subscription separately on Google Play.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Mara to:

We reserve the right to suspend access in case of serious or repeated breach. Where possible, we will give you a chance to remedy the issue before any suspension.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of Mara, including lost data, lost time, or decisions taken on the basis of information shown by the app. Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or any liability that cannot be excluded under French or EU consumer law.

Intellectual property

Mara and its source assets remain the property of the developer. You retain full ownership of the personal data you enter into the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. Material changes (price, feature scope, data processing) will be notified at least 30 days in advance through the app or by email. If a change is detrimental to you, you may terminate your subscription within 30 days of the notice without penalty.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. As a consumer, you can also bring a claim before the courts of your own EU country of residence under Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 (Brussels I bis).

EU online dispute resolution

If you are an EU consumer and a dispute arises that we cannot resolve directly, you can use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/.
